Young Feyenoord midfielder Antoni Milambo is reportedly set to join Premier League outfit Brentford, following the Rotterdam club agreeing to a transfer bid for the rising star.
Speculation regarding Brentford’s interest in Milambo has been circulating for some time, as the 20-year-old enjoyed a remarkable season at Feyenoord, contributing six goals and six assists across 41 matches. Brentford were the first to express interest in Milambo back in January, effectively convincing the talented midfielder about their ambitious plans.
According to various credible Dutch sources, Feyenoord has accepted Brentford’s latest offer of €20 million for the promising midfielder. Additionally, Feyenoord stands to benefit from €5 million in achievable bonuses tied to the academy product’s performance.
Although Feyenoord wished to retain Milambo, who holds the record as the youngest player to ever debut professionally for the club, the midfielder felt it was time for a new challenge after four years with the senior team. On Friday, Milambo bid farewell to his teammates and staff at the club.
The transfer fee of €20 million marks the highest amount Feyenoord has ever received for a player aged 20.
Milambo leaves Feyenoord after making 56 appearances for the senior team, in which he scored seven goals. During his time with Feyenoord, he secured the league title in 2023, along with the KNVB Beker and the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2024.
