Al Ittihad Stage Dramatic Comeback to Overcome Al Nassr 3-2 with Aouar’s Last-Gasp Winner

In a thrilling encounter on Wednesday, Houssem Aouar netted a dramatic last-minute goal, inspiring Al-Ittihad to come from behind and secure a 3-2 victory over Al-Nassr, edging them closer to the Saudi Pro League title.

The match kicked off with Sadio Mane striking first for the home team just three minutes in, finding the back of the net with a low shot.

Mane then turned provider in the 37th minute, setting up Ayman Yahya to double Al-Nassr’s lead to 2-0. The goal was confirmed after a VAR check, despite the ball having made contact with Mane’s hand during the build-up.

After the break, Al-Ittihad emerged as the dominant force. Karim Benzema began the comeback by scoring with a header just four minutes into the half, making it 2-1.

The equaliser followed shortly after as Laurent Blanc’s side launched a counter-attack, culminating in N’Golo Kante calmly slotting the ball into the net to level the scores.

In the dying moments of the match, Algeria’s Aouar sealed the victory for Al-Ittihad from close range, converting a cross delivered by Moussa Diaby.

With this win, Al-Ittihad, who have also reached the final of the King Cup and are on the verge of achieving a domestic double, now sit on 71 points—six clear of Al Hilal—with four matches still to play.

For Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr, currently positioned fourth with 60 points, this defeat dealt a blow to their aspirations of qualifying for the AFC Champions League next season, especially with only two league spots available following Al Ahli’s triumph in the continental competition last Saturday.
