Ajax have reportedly secured a long-term contract extension with Polish prodigy Jan Faberski.
The 19-year-old midfielder made the switch to Ajax from Jagiellonia Bialystok in 2022 and has since made a notable impact in the youth system of the Amsterdam club. As a Polish U19 international, Faberski featured in 34 matches for Jong Ajax in the Eerste Divisie last season, netting four goals and contributing three assists.
According to multiple Dutch media outlets, Ajax and Faberski have come to terms on an extension that will see the young talent remain in Amsterdam until 2030. Although he has yet to make his first-team debut, it’s expected that he will have the opportunity to do so in the upcoming season.
Faberski was hesitant to discuss a contract extension last summer, primarily because he felt there were limited opportunities for him at Ajax. However, under the guidance of John Heitinga, he will get the chance to prove his abilities during the pre-season.
Jan Faberski will be vying for a position on the right-wing in the senior team, contending against Bertrand Traore, Steven Berghuis, Rayane Bounida, and possibly Raul Moro, who is rumoured to be joining Ajax on an €11-million transfer from Real Valladolid.
