Adelaide United has announced that head coach Carl Veart will part ways with the club following the conclusion of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The Reds have decided to “exercise a contractual option not to extend Veart’s position past the current season,” as the 54-year-old prepares to exit as the longest-serving head coach in the club’s history.
As a local icon, Veart has made his mark both as a player and coach at Coopers Stadium. He took the reins in 2020 and successfully led the Reds to three Semi-Final appearances, while also mentoring young South Australian talents such as Nestory Irankunda, Mohamed Toure, Giuseppe Bovalina, Panagiotis Kikianis, Ethan Alagich, Luka Jovanovic, Harry Crawford, and Ryan White.
This season, Adelaide finds itself in seventh place on the ladder, just outside the top six due to goal difference, with four regular-season matches remaining.

“Carl’s impact at Adelaide United is undeniable. He has led the club with integrity, resilience, and a profound connection to our community, and for that, he deserves our sincere gratitude,” said Cor Adriaanse, owner of Adelaide United.
“The club has made the decision to exercise a contractual option not to prolong his contract beyond the current season.
“Change is often challenging, yet it’s an essential part of progression. This decision is part of a broader long-term strategy — one that Carl has significantly influenced. We are looking forward to an exciting new chapter built on the solid foundations he has established, and we remain dedicated to our identity as a proud South Australian club.
“To our supporters, we extend our heartfelt thanks — for your ongoing loyalty and faith. We understand how much this club means to you, and we are devoted to building upon what we have collectively achieved.”
