AaB’s Mathias Jørgensen was understandably distressed following the team’s chastening 4-0 defeat against Silkeborg in the Danish Superliga playoffs.
“Absolutely nothing worked for us in the first half. We were just pushed around,” he remarked.
“It wasn’t enjoyable at all. It was humiliating. We represent a significant football club, yet we played like amateurs. In our current situation, there’s simply no excuse for that.”
“If we can’t turn up on days like today, we’re going to find it tough. We were completely outclassed during those first 45 minutes,” Jørgensen told Viaplay.

This marks the second time AaB has suffered a heavy defeat in the relegation playoffs, having lost 1-4 to Viborg in their previous match.
Jørgensen was clear that this was unacceptable. “We discussed after the Viborg game that we couldn’t afford any more results like that. To deliver another performance like this is incredibly frustrating,” he expressed.
AaB is set to clash with SønderjyskE in a vital relegation showdown on Sunday.
