The legacy of the Honey Badger continues to thrive.
Nick Cummins made a triumphant return to Perth’s HBF Park on Saturday night as the Western Force marked their 20th anniversary as a club.
However, joy was restored as Cameron Shepherd caught up with his former teammate for an interview on Stan Sport.
During their chat, Shepherd quizzed Cummins on the memories that surfaced upon his return.
“Strike me pink,” the former Wallabies winger exclaimed.

“You know, when I stepped out here, during the warm-up and seeing the boys racing around, there’s that distinct scent when they cut the grass with those sprigs.
“It’s a smell that’s very familiar, and it brings back a flood of memories. It’s intensity and responsibility all wrapped into one. You can’t help but feel it all rush back. I just think, ‘give me two runs up the guts, mate’.
“Just two runs straight through, then we can swing it wide.”

Cummins recalled his most memorable highlight with the Force, a hat-trick against the NSW Waratahs in 2014.
“It was fantastic, just to show those buggers what we could do,” he reflected.
“Their squad carried a hefty $6 million salary cap, while ours was just $200,000 for the entire team. We really did put on a show, and beating them here was something special.”
He also paid tribute to James Stannard, now an assistant coach with the Force, naming him the standout performer at the reunion of club legends.
“Both on and off the pitch, he’s a cultural powerhouse and really inspires you to elevate your game,” he shared.
“He pushes you in ways I won’t dive into, but he’s a truly great guy.”
