Melbourne City have rewarded their Championship-winning goalkeeper Patrick Beach with a new two-year contract after an outstanding debut season.
Beach made a surprise debut in Round One of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2024-25 season and went on to play every minute of the campaign, ultimately leading City to clinch the Championship.

The 21-year-old finished the season with a remarkable tally of 12 clean sheets, the highest in the competition, and boasted the best save percentage among goalkeepers with over ten appearances.
Having already been contracted for another season, Beach will now remain with Melbourne City until the conclusion of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2027-28 season.

TRANSFER ANALYSIS: A new Aussie strategy for success in Europe has emerged in the Isuzu UTE A-League
“I’ve learned so much over the last two seasons at Melbourne City, both on and off the pitch, and I genuinely believe there’s no better place in Australia for developing as a player,” Beach stated.
“Winning the Championship last season was an unforgettable moment, and I’m now more determined than ever to keep pushing for further success and challenge myself at the next level in the AFC Champions League.”
Having solidified his position as City’s first-choice keeper, Beach’s impressive performances earned him an invitation from Subway Socceroos head coach Tony Popovic to participate in a Socceroos training camp in May as a train-on player.
“Patrick has displayed incredible professionalism and maturity since joining the Club, and we’re thrilled to have secured him for the next three seasons,” expressed Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo.
“He had to stay patient for his chance, but he kept learning, training hard, and was ready when his moment arrived. To play every game in a Championship-winning season speaks volumes about his character and skill.”
Petrillo further remarked: “We’re confident he will only continue to develop and elevate his game in the years to come.”
Beach’s contract extension follows similar agreements with Alessandro Lopane, Samuel Souprayen, Max Caputo, and Harry Shillington, all of whom have also signed new deals in the off-season.
