EXCLUSIVE: Juventus Pursues Clarity on Sancho Deal as Negotiations with Man Utd Intensify Within 48 Hours

Juventus are optimistic that they will have clarity within the next 48 hours on the feasibility of signing Jadon Sancho.

Initial discussions between Juventus and Manchester United have been positive, covering two potential avenues. The most straightforward option would be a direct cash transaction, although the idea of including a player in the deal is also being explored.

Sancho is reportedly keen on the prospect of moving to Italy and starting afresh in Serie A. However, despite the apparent interest from all parties, significant challenges remain—particularly concerning his salary.

Currently, Sancho’s wages at United surpass what Juventus could offer. Sources in Italy indicate their maximum wage bracket is around £160,000 per week, and while there have been muted suggestions that Sancho may consider a pay cut, this has yet to be confirmed. Until that element changes, the chances of the deal materialising seem slim.

Manchester United would prefer a cash-only transaction, initially demanding £25 million. However, there are indications they might consider a lower fee, possibly between £15 million and £20 million, to ensure a clean exit for Sancho.

This would represent a substantial financial loss for a player they acquired for £73 million, but there seems to be no way forward for Sancho at the club.

Alternatively, a swap deal may be on the cards, with players such as Douglas Luiz being considered—an individual believed to be highly valued by United as they aim to bolster their midfield. Luiz is seen as an established Premier League talent who could provide immediate contributions. Given the financial constraints, there is a growing interest in arrangements that might balance out cash requirements with established quality.

Juventus are eager to conclude this matter promptly, ideally within the week, meaning they require swift confirmation on whether Sancho is a viable option.

Sancho will not be among the first players returning for pre-season training at United this week. The club has no plans to reintegrate him into the squad but is prioritising the resolution of his situation as quickly as possible.
