Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged by the Metropolitan Police Service with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The charges involve two counts of rape relating to one woman, three counts concerning a second woman, and the single count of sexual assault associated with a third woman.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022, and Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5.
“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to bring charges against a man following the submission of a file of evidence from detectives,” the statement confirmed.
“The Metropolitan Police has issued charges and a requisition to Thomas Partey, 32 (13/06/1992), of Hertfordshire, concerning the following offences: Five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.”
Partey recently departed Arsenal earlier this month after his contract with the club concluded.
