Melbourne City has renewed the contract of midfielder Leticia McKenna, a two-time Premiership winner, with a new two-year agreement.
The 22-year-old has established herself as a pivotal player for City since her arrival before the Ninja A-League 2021-22 season.

During her 25 appearances last season, where the team finished unbeaten, McKenna netted six goals and provided five assists, showcasing her stellar performance both individually and as part of the team.
She played a significant role in guiding City to the final of the first-ever AFC Women’s Champions League, where they narrowly lost 5-4 on penalties to Wuhan Jiangda.

“I’m thrilled to remain with City; this club has contributed immensely to my development both on and off the field,” McKenna stated.
“The expectations are incredibly high here, and I’m constantly surrounded by players and staff who motivate me to continually improve—exactly the environment I strive to be in.”
“Last season was invaluable on both a personal and team level, and I’m eager to contribute to even greater achievements in the upcoming seasons.”
After another solid season in City colours, McKenna has now made 86 appearances for the club, placing her second behind Captain Rebekah Stott for the most appearances by a female player in the club’s history.
“Leticia has evolved into one of the most reliable and vital members of our Women’s team over the past four years,” commented City’s Director of Football, Michael Petrillo.
“To have played more than 100 senior matches by the age of 23 is an extraordinary accomplishment that highlights her quality, professionalism, and consistency.”
“We’re excited to see her continued growth and her influential role as we aim for greater success in the future.”
