Midfielder Guus Til has signed a two-year extension to his contract with Eredivisie champions PSV, securing his stay at the club until 2028.
A six-time international representing the Netherlands, Til joined PSV in 2022 from Spartak Moscow. Since his arrival, the attacking midfielder has celebrated two Eredivisie titles, made 135 appearances, and netted 36 goals for the club, which boasts 26 league championships.
“I’ve enjoyed three successful years here; I’m convinced PSV is a fantastic club, and this contract extension says a lot,” Til remarked on the club’s official website.
In the previous season, Til played a key role in PSV’s impressive resurgence, contributing to the club’s pursuit of their 26th title by being amongst six players who scored at least 10 goals in the Eredivisie campaign. Remarkably, PSV won all eight matches in which Til found the back of the net.
“My ambitions are clear. I aim to improve each year, to clinch the league title every season, and to advance further in the Champions League,” he added.
His contract renewal may prove vital for PSV, especially in light of discussions surrounding their star player, Malik Tillman. The American midfielder is reportedly in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen, who have submitted an official bid for him.
The club’s technical director, Earnest Stewart, expressed his excitement about Til’s extension, stating, “This marks a significant step for us. Guus is a player whose abilities align perfectly with the playing style put forward by our head coach, Peter Bosz.
“Once you have a player like Guus in your squad, you simply don’t want to let him leave.”
Guus Til began his professional journey at AZ before transferring to Spartak Moscow in 2019 for €18 million. Following loan spells at Bundesliga club Freiburg and Feyenoord, Til made a permanent switch to PSV in 2023 for €3 million.
