Juventus coach Igor Tudor expressed his belief that his squad is on the right track following an impressive 5-0 victory over Emirati outfit Al Ain in their opening match of the Club World Cup on Wednesday.
Tudor, who took over from Thiago Motta in March during a challenging season that saw Juventus eliminated from all cup competitions, managed to guide the team to a fourth-place finish in Serie A, ensuring their return to the Champions League next year.
As one of the world’s most renowned football clubs, Juventus carries the weight of high expectations each season; however, the last of their 36 Serie A championships was claimed back in 2020.
Moreover, they haven’t secured a significant international trophy in over twenty years, and the newly formatted Club World Cup presents a chance to change that trend.
The club’s management has rallied behind Tudor, who recently extended his contract through to 2028.
After the match, Tudor noted: “I felt that the team was genuinely invested in this fixture; their motivation was evident. They were determined and displayed a strong desire to win.

“There was a wonderful sense of camaraderie among the players, as they were eager to work tirelessly for each other and put in the hard yards. I sensed that connection amongst them, which was palpable.
“We’re progressing well. There’s always room for improvement… a team is like a living entity, constantly evolving from day to day.”
