In an emotional showdown, Queensland captain Cameron Munster unleashed an expletive following his team’s thrilling game two win, keeping their State of Origin series hopes alive.
Making his debut as skipper, Munster produced a standout performance, earning the Man of the Match title as the Maroons secured a nail-biting 26-24 victory, forcing a decisive game.
The five-eighth stepped into his leadership role after coach Billy Slater’s controversial decision to drop Daly Cherry-Evans, stirring significant discourse leading up to the match. However, Munster rose to the occasion, guiding his side to an exhilarating triumph.

Leading up to the vital match in Perth, Slater was involved in a public dispute with Aaron Woods, culminating in him extending an apology to Paul Green’s family after making comments relating to his tragic passing three years prior.
However, once the final whistle blew, all focus shifted to Munster, who notched a try, gained 131 run metres, and contributed 21 tackles for an impressive individual performance.

Maroons legend Darren Lockyer lauded the 30-year-old during the post-match discussion on Nine, asserting that his leadership had elevated his performance to new heights.

“At times, Cam can drift in and out of matches, but tonight he was involved in every phase. He finished with 17 runs, 130 metres, and his kicking game was truly impressive.
“That was a brilliant display for a captain.”
Queensland now sets their sights on reclaiming the Origin shield in game three, set to take place at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on July 9.
