Harry Kane expressed that his inaugural team title was “worth the wait” following his Bayern Munich side’s triumph as they were awarded the Bundesliga shield on Saturday.
As reigning champions heading into the match, Bayern secured a 2-0 victory against Borussia Monchengladbach at home, with Kane heading in the opening goal in the 31st minute, marking his 25th league goal of the season.
After being soaked in beer by his jubilant teammates on the Allianz Arena pitch, Kane shared with Sky Germany that the trophy had been “a long time coming”.
“It’s chilly, but there will definitely be a few more today,” a drenched Kane told journalists.
The 31-year-old has previously experienced the disappointment of losing six finals in his career—three with his former club Tottenham, two with the England national team, and one with Bayern—alongside a second-place league finish with Spurs.
Finally tasting team success last Sunday when Bayer Leverkusen drew 2-2 with Freiburg, Kane described the title victory as “an incredible feeling… it’s worth the wait.”
“A lot of hard work and sacrifice has gone into this, and moments like these are what it’s all about—celebrating with the team and the fans. I’m cherishing every second.”

The striker added, “we’re definitely going to enjoy this, but we aim for this to be just the first of many.”
“We’ve got a fantastic team, an excellent coach, and we feel like we’re in the process of building something special, so we’re looking forward to the challenges ahead.”
Kane also acknowledged long-time England teammate Eric Dier, who will be departing Bayern this summer. The title win also marked Dier’s first success in his career.
