Daniel Arzani delivered a standout performance during the first half of Melbourne Victory’s Elimination Final clash against Western Sydney Wanderers, playing a pivotal part in both goals at CommBank Stadium.
From the outset, Arzani was in fine form at Wanderland, delivering a breathtaking defence-splitting pass to Kasey Bos, allowing Victory to seize an early lead just seven minutes into the knockout match.
Although the Wanderers equalised courtesy of Zac Sapsford, just before half-time, Arzani showcased his skill again. He orchestrated a brilliant run down the left flank, evading two defenders, which set up Zinedine Machach for a composed volley that restored Victory’s lead at CommBank Stadium.
During the half-time segment on Network 10, former A-Leagues forward Roy O’Donovan praised the distinct abilities that Arzani brings to the game when he immerses himself in an Isuzu UTE A-League match.
“When Arzani is in full swing, there’s simply no one like him in Australia,” O’Donovan remarked.
