Marcus Rashford is anticipated to be sidelined for the remainder of Aston Villa’s season due to a hamstring injury, as reported on Monday.
The forward did not feature in Unai Emery’s squad for Saturday’s 3-0 FA Cup semi-final loss against Crystal Palace.
Following the match, the manager indicated that Rashford, who joined Villa on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season in January, is likely to be out for “several weeks”.
With both the Champions League and the FA Cup exits this month, Villa have only four Premier League matches remaining as they shift their focus towards securing a spot in European competition for the next season.
At 27, Rashford had been sidelined by United manager Ruben Amorim, but has shown a resurgence during his loan tenure in Birmingham, netting four goals and providing six assists.
However, his future remains uncertain with three years left on his contract at Old Trafford.
Last month, he was called back up to the England squad by new manager Thomas Tuchel, starting in matches against Albania and Latvia.
England’s next World Cup qualifier is away against Andorra on June 7, followed by a home friendly with Senegal three days later.
