A troubling aspect of the Lachlan Galvin saga has emerged, with reports indicating that his manager, Isaac Moses, presented a series of complaints to the club regarding the head coach and celebrated figure, Benji Marshall.
Tigers CEO Shane Richardson described this as a “smear campaign” orchestrated by Moses against Marshall in comments made to The Sydney Morning Herald over the weekend.
In the same column from Nine’s Danny Weidler in the Herald, the origins of the conflict between Marshall and Moses were reportedly clarified.
Weidler asserts that in early 2023, the Tigers—comprising Marshall and then-coach Tim Sheens—held discussions with Moses and his client Mitchell Moses about a possible return to Concord from the Eels.
Reportedly, Moses—the agent—was taken aback by what he perceived as Marshall’s “disrespectful” demeanour towards the esteemed coach Sheens, and he addressed this concern in a follow-up phone call the next day.
Ultimately, Mitchell Moses chose not to join the Tigers, and it is suggested that the relationship between the agent and Marshall has soured since that time.
