Sydney FC have confirmed that goalkeeping legend Andrew Redmayne will leave the club at the conclusion of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
After accumulating 237 appearances for the Sky Blues over his eight-and-a-half-year tenure, Redmayne will part ways with Sydney FC when his current contract ends.
Ranked third on the club’s all-time appearances list, following Sky Blues icons Alex Brosque and Rhyan Grant, the four-time Socceroo and A-Leagues stalwart will depart having made a lasting impact on both the club and its supporters.

“These eight-and-a-half seasons have been the best of my career, and the most successful. Sydney FC will always hold a special place in my heart,”
Andrew Redmayne on his upcoming departure from Sydney FC.
“From the very first moment I joined, this club embraced me and provided everything – belief, support, and the opportunity to be part of something truly incredible. I’ve forged lifelong memories and friendships here.
“To the members and fans, thank you. Your unwavering support has made this place feel like home. I’ll forever be proud to have donned this jersey, your jersey.

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life and the new adventures that lie ahead, but I’ll always reflect on my time at Sydney FC with tremendous pride and thankfulness.”
This season, Redmayne has found himself lower in the pecking order, with Sky Blues head coach Ufuk Talay opting to give the starting position to current goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares.
Nonetheless, the 35-year-old will be remembered as the club’s finest goalkeeper, leaving with three Championships, three Premierships, and two Australia Cup titles, alongside an impressive tally of 64 clean sheets.
“Redders’ dedication and accomplishments at this football club will be remembered and celebrated,” stated club captain and close friend Rhyan Grant.
“He’s played a vital role in our successes over the years and has made countless contributions.
“Furthermore, he has been an exemplary figure at the club, acting as a mentor to younger players – the ultimate teammate, professional, and friend.
“He leaves behind a legacy that will never fade.”

With a storied career, Redmayne has not only carved his name into Sydney FC history but also into Socceroos lore following his penalty-saving heroics that secured Australia’s qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
This Sunday, the Sky Blues will face off against Newcastle Jets at Allianz Stadium, marking both Redmayne’s and the club’s final home match of the season.
Sydney FC will honour their outgoing goalkeeper before the match against the Jets, with fans encouraged to arrive early to partake in the presentation.
Currently sitting sixth on the ladder, Sydney FC aims to bounce back after their heart-wrenching exit from the AFC Champions League Two against Singaporean side Lion City Sailors earlier this week.
