Port Adelaide has surged past Hawthorn in a match that has seen tensions flare at times.
The Hawks had plenty to say leading up to the game, with small forwards Nick Watson and Jack Ginnivan stoking the rivalry that began during last year’s semi-final.
Nevertheless, it’s been all Port at the Adelaide Oval, as they have dominated with 12 goals to three, taking a commanding lead of 79-20 at halftime.
Star players Zak Butters and Connor Rozee have been pivotal, with the captain making a strong impact after moving to the half-back line.

Sam Powell-Pepper has set the tone, playing a strong defensive forward role against James Sicily, scoring a goal and getting involved in some rough play with the captain afterwards.
Sicily was a pivotal figure for Hawthorn in last year’s encounter.
Butters also brought the fire, initiating a scuffle with Hawks forward Nick Watson on the wing.
Hawthorn entered as hot favourites, having started the season undefeated, while the Power had only managed to defeat Richmond in 2025.
“They’ve been absolutely thrashed,” Jonathan Brown remarked on Fox Footy.
“This has been a thorough smacking in the midfield.”
