Young Perth Glory star Jaylan Pearman has opened up about his upcoming transfer to English club QPR following an impressive performance during Saturday night’s 4-1 victory over Adelaide United.
Pearman netted twice, leading Glory to defy the odds in their last home match of the Isuzu UTE A-League season.
The 18-year-old struck with a quick-fire two goals within seven minutes, marking only Perth’s third win of the season and lifting them off the bottom of the table.
In February, Stan Lazaridis, football director of Glory, announced that EFL Championship side QPR had reached an agreement to sign the young talent for an estimated “$350-400,000”.
After the impressive win at HBF Park, Pearman reflected on the idea of teaming up with fellow Australian and former Glory player Daniel Bennie at QPR.

“Moving to the other side of the world without my family will obviously be a challenge,” Pearman explained to Paramount+.
“But having a close friend over there will definitely help me.”
While Perth has faced difficulties throughout the 2024-25 season, it has been a breakout year for Pearman.
The Australian youth international has contributed four goals and three assists to the team.
“It hasn’t been the season we wanted, but having my breakout season in front of my hometown fans and representing my club in the last home game is an incredible feeling. They truly deserve it,” Pearman said. “It feels unreal to give something back.”
Pearman’s achievements this season have earned him the nickname ‘The Prince of Perth’.
“The first time I heard it was after the Auckland game. Everyone’s been calling me that at training, and it feels really nice,” he said with a smile.
Meanwhile, Glory manager David Zdrilic praised Pearman, who is likely playing his last home game for Perth.
“At the beginning of the season, he was playing in the NPL and sometimes struggled to hold his ground. His talent has always been evident, but he needed that physical strength.
“He has integrated seamlessly into the team and has consistently raised his game. Each match, he’s stepping it up a notch.”
“Remember, I’ve been using him as a number 10 or alongside Taggs (Adam Taggart) up front. He scored both of those goals from the left side, showcasing his versatility. He’s a great kid, and I’m genuinely happy for him.”
