Manchester United icon and current pundit Gary Neville was left seething with frustration at the events of the Manchester derby on Sunday.
The final clash of the season at Old Trafford ended in a stalemate, with United and City finishing the match at 0-0.
Neither team managed to find the breakthrough in what many have labelled as one of the most uninspiring matches of the season.
In his post-match comments, Neville, 50, pointed fingers at Pep Guardiola and Ruben Amorim for the lacklustre display.
During his passionate rant on Sky Sports, Neville remarked: “I don’t believe a single player left the pitch feeling disappointed with a 0-0 draw from either side.
“It seemed they all walked off thinking, ‘We’re fine, we escaped without any mistakes.’ It was genuinely disappointing; I apologise for my commentary errors, I let the game affect me. I was dull on air as well. That was awful.
“I understand what he (Amorim) means when he talks about this time of the season, with both City and United struggling.
“However, this mechanical way of play, where players are restricted from leaving their positions, being managed within an inch of their lives, and lacking the freedom to take risks to pursue a win has become a serious problem in our game; it’s turning into a disease in football.”
