Newcastle United defender Dan Burn has shared insights into the inaugural motivational address delivered by new England coach Thomas Tuchel.
Burn noted that the German tactician emphasised the importance of team spirit and outlined his aspirations for the Three Lions.
He remarked yesterday: “He mentioned that the aim is to add another star to the jersey.”
“You could tell just by looking around that everyone was engaged and eager to embrace that vision.”
“He (Tuchel) mentioned having discussions with players from previous tournaments and other nations about the contrasts between exiting in the early stages and what it takes to claim victory.”
“A significant part of those discussions revolved around interactions. He referenced the NBA, stating that historically, the most successful teams are often the ones that engage in high-fives, support each other, and maintain numerous positive interactions.”
“We practice a lot of that camaraderie at Newcastle and prioritise it. It helps keep players focused and provides little boosts to sustain motivation.”
Burn added: “From my conversation with him (Tuchel) last night, I feel confident that every effort will be made to finally bring the trophy home.”
