Como president Mirwan Suwarso has voiced his support for Dele Alli following the midfielder’s straight red card in their 2-1 Serie A defeat to AC Milan on Saturday.
Suwarso took to Instagram to back the 28-year-old after the incident, stating: “The fire still burns. After nearly two years, Dele Alli stepped back onto the battlefield.
“It requires bravery to persevere, to confront doubts, to tune out the critics, and to return, not just to play, but to compete at the highest level once more.
“Some may focus on the red card. Let them. What we witnessed was something different. We saw hunger. We saw resilience. We caught glimpses of brilliance. Those of us who watch him train daily understand.
“This is merely the beginning. The journey back is hardly straightforward, but true warriors don’t surrender. Keep pushing, Dele. Your best days are still to come. Semm Cumasch.”
This match against AC Milan marked Dele’s first senior appearance in two years; however, he lasted less than 10 minutes on the pitch after VAR ruled his tackle on Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a red card offence.
Dele will miss Como’s next three matches as they gear up for a clash with Empoli following the international break.
