Paris Saint-Germain claimed a 3-1 victory over Olympique de Marseille as they continue their pursuit of the Ligue 1 title, marking their fifth successive win in the iconic Le Classique matchup.
Returning from their historical outing at Anfield, Les Parisiens faced no easy welcome back in domestic play against their longstanding rivals.
Amine Gouiri’s free-kick was well saved, while Nuno Mendes had his efforts thwarted by Geoffrey Kondogbia and Geronimo Rulli during an intensely contested first ten minutes.
Ousmane Dembele, in sensational form, made his mark by seizing a pass from Fabian Ruiz, spinning away from Rulli, and slotting the ball home to net the opener, extending his remarkable tally to 25 goals in his last 20 appearances across all competitions.
Les Olympiens pressed on in their quest for an equaliser; however, Adrien Rabiot headed narrowly wide, and although Bilal Nadir won a free-kick in a promising position, he could only manage to hit the wall, with Gouiri’s follow-up deflected by Vitinha.
Gianluigi Donnarumma continued to shine, parrying away an attempt from Valentin Rongier, while Gouiri had another effort deflected wide following a careless pass from Achraf Hakimi.
In a decisive moment just before halftime, Marseille’s defences were breached as Fabian slipped the ball through for Mendes, who calmly slid it past Rulli to double PSG’s lead.

Just moments after Dembele sent a shot over the bar from Desire Doue’s cutback, Marseille ignited new hope as Rabiot rounded Donnarumma and selflessly provided a pass for Gouiri to finish at close range.
Dembele came agonisingly close to restoring PSG’s two-goal cushion; his strike on the hour mark deflected onto the post by Luiz Felipe, before Rulli hurried out to thwart Warren Zaire-Emery soon after.
In response, Roberto De Zerbi brought on three substitutes to bolster his team’s efforts, but disaster struck when Pol Lirola turned Hakimi’s cross into his own net in the 76th minute.
Despite their push for a comeback, the visitors were unable to find the net, with Quentin Merlin’s effort going just wide, leading PSG to celebrate a remarkable seventh consecutive victory in Ligue 1, extending their lead over second-placed Marseille to 19 points.
To worsen the situation for Les Olympiens, this defeat marks their third in four matches after losing only one of their previous 11 league games.
