An NBA jersey worn by superstar Victor Wembanyama has fetched over $100,000 at auction.
During a game for the San Antonio Spurs in late December, the 21-year-old swapped his jersey with a young admirer sitting courtside.
The fan had been holding a sign asking for the exchange, and Wembanyama gladly obliged, resulting in a heartwarming moment that delighted onlookers.

Shortly after, the jersey was listed in an online auction, prompting a minimal reaction from the towering Spurs forward on social media.
Bidding commenced at $15,000 AUD, and the jersey ultimately sold for approximately $115,000, as reported by ESPN, highlighting the significance of this unique piece of sports memorabilia.
Wembanyama, who was selected as the No.1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft by San Antonio, has unfortunately been sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The 221cm French player is currently managing deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.
The team remains optimistic that Wembanyama will make a return in time for the commencement of the next season.
