Roy Keane, widely regarded as one of the most formidable figures in football history, has thrown his weight behind the “proper tough” rugby league players heading to Las Vegas this weekend.
The former Manchester United captain, famous for his aggressive style of play, shared that he has been catching the early rounds of the Super League.
As the Warrington Wolves prepare to face the Wigan Warriors for the NRL’s second foray into Sin City, numerous athletes are rallying behind this expansion initiative.
During an appearance on Sky Sports, Keane expressed his admiration for the English talent and is pleased to see rugby league gaining more recognition on a global scale.
“It’s fantastic,” he remarked.
“The league kicked off a week or two ago, and I’ve tuned into a couple of the matches.”

“They’re genuine tough players, so maybe they warrant a bit more attention,” Keane continued.
“Good on them for putting themselves out there.”
Former player and current pundit Micah Richards also expressed interest in getting involved with the Vegas event in the future.
“A Super Sunday from Vegas? I’d be keen if Leeds were there – count me in,” he said during the post-show discussion on Monday morning (AEDT).
