Valere Germain, the skipper of the Macarthur Bulls, has received a Disciplinary Notice following a citation from Football Australia’s Match Review Panel (MRP) in relation to an incident that occurred during last week’s draw against Western United.
The MRP examined a situation involving Germain in or around the 96th minute of Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Western United, part of Round 18 of the Isuzu UTE A-League at Campbelltown Stadium.

According to clause 11.1(c)(i) of the A-Leagues Disciplinary Regulations, the MRP is empowered to identify Citation Incidents, which include scenarios where a player should have received a direct Red Card under Law 12 of the Laws of the Game but was overlooked by the Referee.

Consequently, the MRP has issued a Disciplinary Notice to the French forward, requiring him to provide an explanation regarding the allegation of “Use of offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures towards a Match Official.”
The MRP is set to reconvene on Tuesday afternoon to review any submissions made on Germain’s behalf, ultimately deciding whether the former Monaco and Marseille striker is guilty of the offence and, if so, what penalty should be applied ahead of Sunday’s match against Western Sydney Wanderers.

On another note, Angus Thurgate from Western United will be sidelined for Saturday’s highly anticipated matchup against league leaders Auckland FC in Tarneit.
The talented midfielder faces a mandatory one-game ban after receiving his fifth yellow card of the 2024-25 season.
Western currently sits in third place on the table, trailing Auckland by seven points.
