The brilliance of Randal Kolo Muani played a pivotal role in Juventus’ victory over Como on Friday, but manager Thiago Motta is cautious not to let the French forward become complacent, calling for even greater contributions from the new recruit.
Since joining the club on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, Kolo Muani has been in exceptional form, having scored five goals in his first three matches with Juventus.
In the recent 2-1 triumph at Como, he netted both goals, including a decisive penalty in the 89th minute, despite the team facing difficulties in creating scoring opportunities. However, Motta remains grounded about the young player’s performance.
“He’s in good form, scoring goals, but he knows he can improve further,” Motta told Sky Sport.
“He must stay humble and keep putting in the effort. A forward’s responsibilities go beyond just scoring.
“He’s contributing, just like the rest of the squad; everyone has their moment and their unique strengths. The team will continue to develop.”
Juventus were fortunate to leave Como with maximum points, yet Motta expressed satisfaction with how his side managed to secure the win.
“Playing against Como is challenging; they play good football and can create problems for any team,” Motta noted.
“We were tactically astute and executed the game plan necessary to achieve victory. I’m especially pleased for the players who earned it.”
Kolo Muani found himself sidelined at PSG, struggling to break into Luis Enrique’s lineup, managing only two league starts this season despite scoring twice in the initial three matches.
Now, at 26, he is embracing this fresh opportunity in Italy, fulfilling his aspirations with a stunning start.
“This is a dream come true for me. I’m thrilled to be here, and with this start, I couldn’t ask for more at Juventus,” Kolo Muani expressed.
“For me, it’s crucial to always play for victory. We’re pleased to have succeeded against Como tonight, and now we look forward to the next challenge.”
