Steve Corica, the head coach of Auckland FC, has been awarded the January Coach of the Month accolade in the Isuzu UTE A-League. This marks an impressive third consecutive win for Corica after a remarkable start with the Black Knights.
Having previously secured the Coach of the Month titles for December and October/November, Corica continues to earn recognition thanks to a significant share of fan votes. The Auckland outfit, in its inaugural season, is flourishing under his leadership.
Competing for January’s award with coaches Aurelio Vidmar from Melbourne City, Carl Veart of Adelaide United, and Mile Sterjovski from Macarthur FC, Corica received the highest number of votes among the nominated coaches to clinch this month’s honour.

Corica’s nomination for the January award came through Football Coaches Australia’s monthly nomination process.
The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) joined forces with FCA in the 2022-23 season to empower fans in recognising exceptional coaching performances across both the Ninja A-League Women and the Isuzu UTE A-League Men.
An experienced panel from the FCA is responsible for selecting the monthly nominees for Coach of the Month in both competitions, with the eventual winner determined by fan votes.
The voting eligibility for January covered Rounds 11-15 of the Isuzu UTE A-League season, taking into account performances from December 31 to January 22 as assessed by the FCA Panel.
During this eligibility period, Corica managed a total of four matches, securing one victory, two draws, and suffering one defeat.
