West Ham United have secured the signing of Evan Ferguson, a 20-year-old centre-forward from Ireland, on loan from Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion for the remainder of the season, the London club announced on Monday.
Ferguson made his first-team debut for Brighton in 2021 under the management of Graham Potter, who took over as West Ham’s manager last month.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me. I’m familiar with the gaffer, and I can’t wait to work with him again,” Ferguson shared with West Ham TV.
Last year, Ferguson faced a challenging period, spending nearly five months on the sidelines due to a cruciate ligament tear, followed by an ankle injury in December, which delayed his return until Saturday during Brighton’s heavy 7-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Currently sitting 15th in the league standings, West Ham will take on sixth-placed Chelsea later on Monday.
