The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) collaborated with the FCA during the 2022-23 season to empower fans in recognising exceptional coaching performances in both the Ninja A-League Women and Isuzu UTE A-League Men.
The FCA has established an experienced selection panel responsible for nominating candidates for the Coach of the Month award in both leagues. After the nominees are announced, the winner is determined by a fan vote.
The eligibility period for the January/February award comprised Rounds 13 to 16 of the Ninja A-League season, with performances from January 24 to February 16 being evaluated by the FCA Panel for the nominees.
During this eligibility period, Smith led her team through five matches, achieving two victories, two draws, and one defeat.
