Brisbane Roar has announced that American goalkeeper Olivia Sekany is returning to her parent club, Racing Louisville, in the United States.
After making 17 appearances during the 2024-25 Ninja A-League season, where she achieved six clean sheets and made 47 saves, Sekany is set to rejoin the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team.

The 26-year-old’s final match for the Roar was on 2 March, when she had to leave the field early due to a left leg injury during a 3-2 defeat against Sydney FC. Keeley Richards came on as a substitute in that match and is now expected to step up as the first-choice goalkeeper following Sekany’s exit.
Reflecting on her stint with Brisbane Roar, Sekany expressed that it had been “everything I could have wished for and even more,” as she departs following what the club described as an “exceptional A-League breakout season.”
“I gained invaluable insights into myself as both a player and an individual, and I cherished every moment spent with my Roar family, both on and off the field,” she remarked.
“Though I’m incredibly disappointed not to finish the season with the team, I’m confident that the girls will perform brilliantly in the matches to come and bring pride to the organisation, the fans, and the city of Brisbane!”
