After a tense 2-0 victory over Udinese on Sunday, Juventus manager Igor Tudor showered praise on Dusan Vlahovic and his squad, a win that could be pivotal in securing a Champions League qualification.
Nico Gonzalez put Udinese in front shortly after the hour mark, leaving the match finely balanced until Vlahovic was brought on in the 73rd minute.
The 25-year-old, who is entering the final year of his contract and has been rumoured to be considering a move away from the club this summer, invigorated Juventus and sealed the win with a second goal just two minutes from the end.
“Vlahovic made a significant impact, played with determination, and demonstrated his worth,” stated Tudor, whose contract is set to expire at the season’s end.
“He sacrificed for the team and delivered an impressive performance.”
Juventus currently sits in fourth place in Serie A with 67 points, just one point clear of Roma and two ahead of Lazio, with one match remaining this season.
Since taking over from Thiago Motta in March, Tudor has led the team to just one defeat in eight matches, highlighting a team effort against a formidable opponent.
“It wasn’t merely about motivation; it was more about our playing style, set pieces, defensive markers, and easing the pressure that the team felt,” he commented to reporters.
“It was a solid performance, and I was pleased with every player. It was truly a fantastic game. Udinese are a serious and well-organised team.”
Next up, Juventus will face relegation-threatened Venezia on Sunday, while Roma will be up against mid-table Torino.
