Motorsport Australia is delighted to announce that, as of 2025, more than 1,000 officials have successfully completed structured online training modules aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge. This initiative is crucial for ensuring safe, fair, and enjoyable participation at all levels of the sport.
Training is a fundamental part of the growth and development of Motorsport Australia’s community of over 11,000 volunteer officials, a priority highlighted by the Officials Working Group.
These structured development pathways feature essential training modules designed to assist officials in advancing through the ranks of General, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Additionally, specialist modules—such as electric vehicle safety—are incorporated to ensure that officials’ expertise remains in line with the ever-evolving motorsport landscape in Australia.

Alongside online training, in-person education has enabled an additional 60 officials to complete training in areas including Stewards Refresher, Critical Incident Management, Silver Module (Leadership), Off Road Course Checking, and First Responder Certification.
Lisa Crampton, the Sporting & Technical Director of Motorsport Australia, emphasised that a strategic focus on training and education strengthens the frameworks that enhance officials’ pathways. This also promotes the core values that foster a culture of respect and accountability in a high-performance setting.
Crampton further stated that, in collaboration with the FIA and as part of regular training needs assessments, Motorsport Australia will be introducing new training modules in the coming months.
