Sam Burgess has successfully resolved his issues with the American authorities and is set to arrive in Las Vegas on Thursday.
This development is a significant boost for the rugby league gala event happening this weekend, as the Warrington coach—one of rugby league’s most prominent personalities—will now be in attendance.
The South Sydney icon was unable to accompany his team to Vegas earlier this week due to visa complications that arose while travelling from England for their match against Wigan.
In a desperate move, Burgess made the journey to London to speed up the visa process, ultimately resolving the matter late on Wednesday.
Typically, individuals with criminal backgrounds are interviewed by the US consulate before their visa application is approved, and there are cases where visas can be denied.

Burgess had pleaded guilty to three driving offences in 2021.
He also tested positive for cocaine following a roadside test in Australia but managed to avoid a conviction and was required to complete a traffic offenders rehabilitation program.
“It’s fantastic that he will be here with his team for such a historic match,” stated Warrington CEO Karl Fitzpatrick in an interview with Wide World of Sports.
Warrington is set to face Wigan in the opening game (8:30am AEDT) this Sunday.
