Jillaroos standout Yasmin Clydsdale has sent a cheeky warning to English opponent Georgia Roche, hinting at a not-so-accidental elbow to the head during Sunday’s women’s Test match at Allegiant Stadium.
The two players have been engaged in a light-hearted war of words via text in the lead-up to this significant international clash, with some messages being rather edgy.
However, it’s all in good fun as both are teammates at the Newcastle Knights NRLW and are eager to put their skills to the test on the exciting Las Vegas stage.
“Georgia is an amazing person, and I still can’t believe I’ll be facing her in a Test match,” Clydsdale remarked to Wide World of Sports.
“She’s been fantastic for the Knights and is a very skilled five-eighth. I often play in the back row and love to run off her play.”
“But this will be a completely different experience for us both, and we’re absolutely buzzing about it – I’m sure we’ll have a good chuckle afterwards.”

Roche is among three NRLW players representing England in this match, joined by Hollie-Mae Dodd from the Raiders, while Paige Travis has recently signed with the Eels for the current season.
Having transitioned from rugby union, Clydsdale was part of the Australian team that secured a bronze medal at the 2018 Sevens World Cup in San Francisco before switching to rugby league.
She has enjoyed immediate success, featuring in seven Tests for the Jillaroos, though this will be her first encounter with England.
“It’s incredibly exciting to play against them for the first time here in Vegas,” the 30-year-old expressed.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the women’s game, which is growing rapidly.”
“Switching codes was the best decision I ever made.”

Clydsdale’s husband, Adam, a former NRL player for the Knights, often trains with her to hone their skills together.
However, the Jillaroos star faces a significant decision in the upcoming months.
“I’m currently off contract and uncertain about where I’ll land,” she shared.
“The Knights fans are incredibly passionate, and this feels like home, so it would be wonderful to remain with the club.”
