Ten-man Manchester United clinched a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town, marking a hat-trick of wins against the Premier League newcomers at Old Trafford this season.
Ipswich began with a clear purpose and quickly capitalised on a miscue just four minutes in, as a long ball from Sam Morsy led to confusion. Andre Onana charged out in a moment of hesitation, allowing Patrick Dorgu to slide the ball past him, which Jaden Philogene then tapped over the line.
Harry Maguire tested Alex Palmer with a powerful header, and while the Red Devils enjoyed significant possession, they were fortunate to level the score when Morsy unwittingly deflected a free-kick from Bruno Fernandes into his own goal.
Another set-piece from Fernandes caused further chaos just four minutes later; Palmer saved attempts from Maguire and Diogo Dalot, but Matthijs de Ligt reacted quickest to flick in the rebound before Jens Cajuste could clear the danger.

Dorgu then unleashed a powerful shot that was well saved, while a crucial tackle from Axel Tuanzebe was needed to thwart Alejandro Garnacho.
Things took a turn for the worse for the home side when Dorgu received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Omari Hutchinson. Just before the break, Philogene’s cross skimmed past Liam Delap and Onana, finding the bottom corner.
Now reduced to ten men and the scores tied, United desperately sought an uplift and found it within two minutes of the second half, as Maguire headed in from a Fernandes corner to slot the ball into the bottom corner.
Though Ipswich regrouped after conceding, Maguire deflected a shot from Delap wide, Cajuste had two attempts blocked, and Jack Taylor missed the target after joining the action from the bench.
As the pressure mounted, Fernandes blocked an attempt from Tuanzebe and surged upfield, delivering a near-perfect pass that just evaded Noussair Mazraoui.
George Hirst then headed wide from a corner, while Onana comfortably saved Philogene’s curling effort, as Manchester United clung on to claim their first victory in four Premier League matches.
This result also marked Ipswich’s sixth defeat in their last seven league outings, leaving the Tractor Boys five points adrift of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the battle for survival.
