Kendrick Lamar can likely take a breather.
Even tough critic Nic White acknowledges that Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii’s inaugural track is quite a commendable effort for a rugby player.
“It’s actually not a bad song, is it?”

Wallabies ace Suaalii is part of the emerging rap collective Dreamyourz, alongside former Sydney Roosters teammates Joseph Manu, Spencer Leniu, Sitili Tupouniua, and Siua Wong.
The group has launched their debut album, OFF-SZN, featuring their first single, We Rock The Party.
“It’s just a fun project, but Joey, he’s actually quite talented,” Suaalii mentioned on Stan Sport’s Rugby Heaven.

“I’m not the best, but it’s a way for us to bond outside of rugby. We often visit Joey Manu’s house, hang out, and jam to a few beats.”
“Sure, he’s in Japan now, but we enjoy this time together beyond the field.”
We Rock The Party got heavy rotation during Australia’s tour of the UK as Suaalii experienced his initial taste of professional rugby.

“I can assure you it was played during every gym session – he was absolutely over it,” White noted recently.
Manu’s relocation to Japan has slightly hindered Dreamyourz‘s progress, while Suaalii has been held back by a troublesome toe injury.
Unfortunately, this issue will again keep Suaalii from participating in Saturday’s Super Rugby Pacific match between the NSW Waratahs and ACT Brumbies in Sydney, although he is hopeful about returning against the Hurricanes in Wellington on March 28.

“Clearly, getting injured wasn’t in the plans, but it’s important to focus on the positives,” Suaalii remarked.
“Being able to observe from the coaches’ box and learn the game from that angle has been fantastic.
“I feel like it’s accelerating my learning process. I’ve really enjoyed that part of the experience, and I’m very confident I’ll be back next week.”
Having been named man of the match in his Test debut against England, it’s no wonder he brushed aside worries about how this time off could impact his readiness for the British and Irish Lions tour.
“Not at all,” the 21-year-old insisted.
“I’m confident in my ability to play rugby, and honestly… during this period, I’ve been focused on studying the game.”

This even included a chance to question All Blacks great Dan Carter during his visit to the Australian F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne.
“Everyone knows who Dan Carter is, so I was pretty excited to meet him,” Suaalii recalled.
“I started chatting about rugby and was keen to know his strategies for preparation, how he approaches training, and all sorts of insights. He’s a really knowledgeable and humble guy.”
The Waratahs are feeling the sting of their first loss of the season and are eager for redemption against the Brumbies.
“Everyone’s keen for this match. I’ve seen their (Brumbies’) social media video stating they’ve defeated us 13 times in a row.
“We’re aware of that.”
