The manager of Nottingham Forest, Nuno Espirito Santo, addressed the media in his recent press conference as he gears up for the upcoming clash against Ipswich Town this weekend.
Following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Manchester City last time, Forest will aim to maintain their momentum with an away game at Portman Road, where they will meet an Ipswich team eager to escape the relegation zone.
On a more positive note for Nottingham, Nuno confirmed that he has a fully fit squad at his disposal, which poses a challenge for Ipswich.
“Having a completely fit squad is fantastic; it provides us with options and solutions, and it’s simply wonderful to see everyone available. There’s nobody on the injury list. It’s a pleasant position to be in,” he remarked.
The Forest manager also praised Morgan Gibbs-White, particularly in light of the forthcoming England squad selection under new manager Thomas Tuchel, where the 25-year-old is expected to earn a call-up due to his recent stellar performances in the Premier League.
“Morgan has been a tremendous asset for us, contributing not just with his exceptional performances on the pitch, but also by supporting his teammates—his leadership is invaluable, and he’s one of our captains,” Nuno noted.
“As for the squad, we’ll wait and see what Thomas (Tuchel) decides, and hope he includes everyone he wishes to call up.”
Nuno took pride in the fact that Forest could see as many as 14 players representing their countries during the upcoming international break, reflecting the club’s development over recent years.
“We have a significant number of English players who are contenders for the England squad,” Nuno said prior to the Saturday encounter.
“Each time one of our players is selected for their national team, it fills us with pride as a club. It’s an individual goal for them, which enhances their performance for us,” he explained.
“It’s a continuous cycle. We are very proud—not just of the English players, but we have a substantial number of internationals. Almost 14 players are set to join their national teams, which is a testament to their hard work.”
When questioned about any changes in preparation now that the season is reaching its critical phase for potential European qualification, Nuno responded:
“There’s no need to change anything; we’ll approach the game the same way we have all season. It’s essential to focus on the details and prepare to compete against challenging opponents.
“Everything is coming down to these final matches, and all teams will be ready, so we must be prepared to go up against Ipswich.”
