Magic Round has solidified its place as a key event in the NRL calendar, and in 2025, it will shine in the NRLW as the women’s league hosts its inaugural marquee round.
On Tuesday morning, the NRL announced that Magic Round will take place at Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium, with the specific dates yet to be confirmed.
The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) has secured a three-year agreement with the NSW government, paving the way for NRLW Magic Round to be held in regional areas.
ARLC chairman Peter V’landys expressed his excitement, stating it was “fantastic” to bring “one of the great success stories of the sport” to the women’s competition.
“The commission is committed to the advancement of women’s rugby league, and the NRLW Magic Round represents a significant milestone in the growth of the game,” V’landys remarked.
