The FIA Girls on Track Career Development and Mentoring Program made a welcome return at the 2025 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, granting young women aged 16-22 a remarkable chance to immerse themselves in the motorsport arena.
Now in its fourth year, the initiative continues to motivate and uplift young women, with two participants from the 2024 cohort landing internships with the Kick Sauber F1 Team throughout the Grand Prix weekend.

The Capability Development and Mentoring Program under the FIA Girls on Track banner, hosted at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, offers young women aged 16-22 a unique chance to gain direct experience in the motorsport sector. Two individuals from the 2024 programme have advanced to internships within the Formula One Paddock this weekend.
During her meeting with interns Angelique Vitale and Tyra Lawler-Cass, the minister addressed the significance of boosting female participation in motorsport at all tiers and praised the Girls on Track initiative for establishing essential pathways for young women aspiring to enter the industry.
Motorsport Australia is actively collaborating with the Australian Sports Commission to enhance opportunities for aspiring female motorsport professionals, ensuring that initiatives like Girls on Track continue to be a catalyst for transformation.
