Min Woo Lee has seen a significant drop in his standings at The Players Championship, with a pair of double bogeys costing the Australian golfer dearly.
After initially leading this prestigious event, regarded as the ‘fifth major’ on the PGA Tour, the 26-year-old had a disappointing outing on Sunday morning (AEDT).
It was on the fifth hole that Lee struggled with his tee shot, expressing obvious frustration straight away.
“Oh my gosh,” the Australian was heard exclaiming following his wayward drive.

His ball ended up in the bushes, narrowly avoiding onlookers, prompting a search and a penalty shot for Lee.
“That can really create issues over there,” the commentator remarked.
“There’s a little creek down there, and it’s a tricky area.”
Once he finally managed to get the ball onto the green, Lee missed his bogey attempt, and after a long ordeal, he was able to tap in for a double bogey.
“It all started with the tee shot, and 15 minutes later, we’re leaving with a double bogey,” the commentator noted.

Lee would again record a double bogey on the ninth hole, bringing his score to five-over for the round after 11 holes and placing him six-under overall, six shots behind the leader.
J. J. Spaun has now taken over the overall lead in the third round.
