Victor Radley will be missing from the Roosters’ lineup this weekend, and one rugby league legend believes he should take a month off following his latest concussion.
The 26-year-old suffered a head knock during the team’s disastrous round one defeat to the Broncos, colliding with teammate James Tedesco.
He was taken off the field and ruled out immediately after showing symptoms consistent with a category one head injury.
Radley has a history of concussions, with last Thursday’s incident marking at least the sixth time the England international has failed a head injury assessment over the past four seasons.

Although he may return after a mandatory 11-day stand-down, Willie Mason has advised both Radley and the club to consider a more extended absence.
“I feel for Victor – I hope he’s alright,” Mason remarked on Levels.
“That was a significant hit. He should take more than just one week off. I’m firmly against this HIA nonsense; that was like being struck by Mike Tyson.”
“It’s getting concerning, and I want Victor to really think about his future. I don’t believe a week is sufficient—he should take at least a month off. He could be a future captain of the club, still only 26 or 27 years old.”

“I just don’t believe a week is enough. We must take the decision out of these players’ hands; he is too tough for his own good. Someone should step in and tell Victor, ‘You’re out for at least four weeks.’
“If you suffer a hit like that in boxing, it’s a six to 12-week recovery.”

The Roosters have proactively managed Radley’s previous head injuries, being at the forefront of concussion protocols in the NRL.
Club stalwarts Jake Friend and Boyd Cordner both ended their careers prematurely on the recommendation of medical professionals, while Luke Keary was also closely monitored by the Tricolours throughout his career.
After a challenging first match against Brisbane, Trent Robinson’s side will face an even tougher challenge in round two, going up against reigning champions Penrith on Friday night.
