Juventus climbed back into the top four of Serie A with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.
Despite enjoying a three-match winning streak in Serie A, Juve faced elimination from the UEFA Champions League earlier in the week following a 4-3 aggregate defeat to PSV Eindhoven.
This exit from European competition does allow them to focus on securing qualification for next year’s tournament, and they remain in contention for the title.
In the first half, Juve were the more dominant side and came close to scoring when Weston McKennie headed over the bar from a promising position within the opening 10 minutes.

Shortly after that, Dušan Vlahović, who was making his first start in 2025, put Juve ahead. A poorly executed pass back from Michel Adopo to Yerry Mina presented him with an opportunity. Vlahović seized the moment, overpowering the Colombian defender before rounding goalkeeper Elia Caprile to slot the ball into an empty net.
While Caprile was unable to stop that effort, he did manage to deny Kenan Yıldız before thwarting another attempt from Vlahović. Cagliari managed to mount a response, but only tested Michele Di Gregoria through Nadir Zortea just before half-time.
The second half saw few chances for either side. Francisco Conceição shot over from the edge of the box, while Di Gregorio easily dealt with an Adopo header.
Juventus primarily opted to let Cagliari dominate possession, keeping them at bay. Vlahović had a superb chance to secure the victory, but his one-on-one effort was saved by Caprile.

Cagliari were perhaps lucky to escape a penalty when Sebastiano Luperto appeared to shove Vlahović as he prepared to shoot.
In the end, despite the narrow margin, it was a relatively straightforward evening for the Bianconeri, who can take solace in their performance following their midweek disappointment.
Cagliari rarely threatened offensively, but with this being only their third defeat in the last eight games, they’ve managed to create some breathing room above the relegation zone.
