The FIA Girls on Track Inspire initiative commenced its first event of the year at the Sydney 500, hosted at Sydney Motorsport Park.
As the inaugural round of the Supercars season for 2025, the occasion served as an ideal setting for a select group of young girls aged between 8 and 15 to immerse themselves in the thrilling realm of motorsport and discover the myriad possibilities offered by STEM.

The Inspire programme is aimed at motivating young girls to engage with STEM disciplines and industries, gathering an energetic cohort for a day brimming with practical activities, behind-the-scenes insights, and unforgettable moments.
The objective of the event was to dismantle barriers and highlight the diverse career opportunities within motorsport and beyond.

The day kicked off with the girls experiencing driving simulators at Focus Driver Performance, where they gained insight into what it’s like to be behind the wheel and learned about the integral role that data and engineering systems play in enhancing on-track performance.
Participants enjoyed exclusive garage tours with Supercars teams, witnessing firsthand the dedication involved in preparing and maintaining high-performance race cars.

The electrifying atmosphere of the Sydney 500, coupled with the excitement of watching the cars in action, left the young participants with a renewed appreciation for the motorsport industry.
“Girls on Track was incredible and inspired me to think about my future,” remarked participant Daphne Schembri.
“I particularly enjoyed the simulator workshop as I love the idea of driving, and the highlight for me was connecting with the other girls and sharing our passions for motorsport.”
The complete 2025 Girls on Track schedule will be revealed soon.
