Andrew Johns is of the opinion that young Wests Tigers talent Lachlan Galvin could attract offers reaching $1 million if he enters the open market at the end of this season.
After a remarkable rookie season at Concord, Galvin’s manager has revealed that he will become available for competing clubs starting November 1.
This news has coincided with the announcement of the largest contract in the game, as Dylan Brown prepares to make his move to the Knights.
Once Brown transitions to Newcastle, he is set to earn up to $1.4 million per season, indicative of the escalating figures we’re witnessing for halfbacks.

His exit from Parramatta will provide the club with significant financial flexibility, as well as the opportunity to recruit a five-eighth to partner with Mitchell Moses.
Johns speculates that Galvin could be on the Eels’ radar, emphasising that the 19-year-old could soon don the blue and gold colours.
“They’ll be acquiring one of the finest young five-eighths in the game,” Johns mentioned on Wide World of Sports’ Immortal Behaviour.
“Last week it was announced that from November 1, he can start negotiating and his manager indicated it’s time to get the cheque books out.”

“I’m a massive fan of his; he’s an outstanding player. He thrives in crucial moments, but he still has room to grow,” said Johns.
“He’s a potential playmaker for the next 15 years and I’d be astonished if clubs don’t offer him everything they’ve got.”
Despite having a reasonable deal at the Tigers for a player with limited experience, Johns believes the Eels would likely overwhelm Galvin’s current club with their offer.
“We’re speaking hypothetically, but if Lachie were to sign with the Eels, the initial offer would likely be $1 million – that’s just how wild the market is,” he commented.
“There’s a shortage of quality halfbacks, and with several ageing playmakers like DCE, Cody, Hunt, and Reynolds, there’s a real lack of elite playmakers available.”
Galvin will face Parramatta in round two at CommBank Stadium.
