Registrations for the 2025 Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) season opener are now open.
The Wentworth Shire Pooncarie Desert Dash will once again kick off the AORC campaign from 4-6 April, marking its second consecutive year as the event’s starting point. With its growing popularity, this rural town in New South Wales is gearing up for its fourth appearance on the national calendar.
As the event’s success continues to flourish, a few modifications have been introduced, with the most notable being the reversal of the course layout and adjustments to the pit entry and exit. Aside from these operational changes, the main structure of the event will stay largely the same this year.
The Supplementary Regulations for this event are now accessible, along with the 2025 AORC/SXS Sporting Regulations. Competitors are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with these documents prior to the start of the season.

As in previous years, the format will include a Prologue and two sections spread over two days, featuring over 440 competitive kilometres for Australia’s top crews to tackle.
Entries for the event will close at 11:59pm AEDT on Friday, 21 March, with teams invited to register through the Motorsport Australia Member Portal.
A highlight of the Pooncarie Desert Dash is the Show N Shine event on the Friday evening prior, where competitors display their vehicles to celebrate the season’s commencement, with a prize awarded for the Best Presented Vehicle.
