Eintracht Frankfurt continue their unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga for 2025, though their winless spell across all competitions has extended to four matches after being held to a 1-1 draw at Borussia Mönchengladbach, a side they have not defeated in their last nine meetings.
Since the departure of key player Omar Marmoush, Dino Toppmöller’s squad has struggled, recording two draws and one loss (D2, L1). The visitors had a shaky start in the first half, as Mönchengladbach took control of the game. Florian Neuhaus looked particularly dangerous for the home team, unleashing a shot from distance that narrowly missed the target.
Neuhaus continued to apply pressure, and after a failed clearance from the Eagles during a set-piece, he delivered a precise cross that was headed home by Tim Kleindienst, opening the scoring.
This goal seemed to energise the visitors, who equalised just five minutes later. After a chaotic sequence in the box, Hugo Larsson’s shot from the edge was tipped onto the crossbar, but Hugo Ekitike capitalised on the rebound to score. Ekitike could have given Frankfurt the lead before halftime, but after Ansgar Knauff delivered a ball across the goal, he unfortunately struck the woodwork.

Frankfurt resumed the second half with renewed intent, asserting their dominance while Mönchengladbach struggled to keep pace, yet they failed to convert their superiority into goals.
Can Uzun witnessed his shot brilliantly saved by Moritz Nicolas, and he soon followed that up by firing just wide of the post. Involved in several key plays for the Eagles, Uzun also received a yellow card for a late challenge in midfield.
As the match progressed, Mönchengladbach found their rhythm towards the end, but Kevin Trapp in the Frankfurt goal was not tested, ensuring that the visitors claimed a hard-fought point away from home.
With neither team able to find the elusive second goal, the points were shared, keeping Frankfurt in the top three of the league, trailing Bayer Leverkusen by seven points in second place.
Mönchengladbach still harbours hopes of securing a European spot, but their failure to clinch victory has hindered their chances of breaking into the top six.
