NRL speedster Brent Naden received another devastating injury setback when his left knee was severely twisted during the Wests Tigers’ pre-season matchup against Parramatta on Friday night.
The Tigers’ centre was escorted off Leichhardt Oval in the first half following the serious knee injury inflicted by a tackle from three Eels defenders.
Highly respected sports physiotherapist Brien Seeney provided a bleak evaluation on social media.
“Brent Naden has suffered a horrible knee injury,” Seeney tweeted from his @nrlphysio X account.
“There’s a clear dislocation of the kneecap (patella), and there’s also a risk of additional ligament damage (MCL/ACL) due to the traumatic contact.
“A lengthy recovery awaits; let’s hope it’s not as severe as it appears.”
Although a stretcher was brought onto the pitch, Naden was able to walk off with assistance, but he was unable to bear weight on his left leg.
In the past five seasons, Naden has not played more than 10 NRL games in any single year.
MORE TO COME.
