AC Milan’s manager, Sergio Conceicao, is optimistic about his team’s potential to turn their season around, praising their tenacity after a thrilling 2-1 win against Como at home on Saturday.
This victory signifies their second consecutive comeback in Serie A, following a 3-2 win at Lecce last week, which came after three straight losses and a prolonged period of inconsistent performances.
Currently, they sit in seventh place in the league, engaged in a fierce struggle to ascend the rankings and secure Champions League qualification for the upcoming season.
“I see a group that is truly committed to succeeding and giving their all. There’s a remarkable determination to change our fortunes and to revitalise Milan’s season,” Conceicao expressed to the media.
The hosts encountered difficulty in managing Como during the first half, with the visitors creating multiple opportunities both before and after they found the net.

In the early part of the second half, Milan took charge and turned the game on its head with goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic.
“There were some positive moments, but also a few less great ones. We began the match strongly, but after conceding, doubts began to creep in. That’s perfectly normal. We dropped too deep, and our pressing was ineffective,” the Portuguese manager remarked.
“In the second half, we effectively capitalised on Como’s weaknesses: our goals were a clear reflection of our preparation. This break is significant for us.”
Pulisic, who scored during the match, admitted he wasn’t sure why Milan had been struggling in the first halves of matches recently.
“I can’t pinpoint the reason; we seek to start matches with more intensity, yet for some reason we always find ourselves in trouble early on this season. What matters is improving in the second half,” he shared.
“We need to maintain a positive outlook, as we’ve won two consecutive matches. The opportunity to achieve our ambitions is there, but we must remain focused on one game at a time.”
